Would HCl turn color like nitric acid. Not from NO2 but maybe a different color or via a different method.?

I have saved some concentrated HCl in my lab and it turned brown. I almost positive it is some kind of contamination (possibly form the storage container) but I know nitric acid turns brown due to nitrogen dioxide formation. I am wondering if there are any possibilities I have not though about. Any ideas would be appreciated.
