Can I pump bottles and feed my baby?

My baby is 10 days old and he does wonderfully with feeding he also takes a pacifier and he is not having any confusion. I want to start pumping and giving him one or two small bottles a night so my husband can feed him and I can get some sleep at night. Do you think it's to early, or is it safe?
